Vishete recipe also known as visheti or chinchin are sweet,crunchy fried pieces of dough.They are easy to prepare and keep well in airtight container for upto a week .They are easily addictive.
Ingredients
4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp cardamon powder ( you can also use nutmeg,cinammon,vanilla essence,lemon or orange zest and ginger).
1 cup melted butter (lukewarm)
1 cup milk (room temperature) add milk gradually as you knead the dough
Method
Add the flour in a mixing bowl,add salt,baking powder,cardamon,sugar and mix together.
Add the melted butter to the flour and rub it to make crumbs.Add milk gradually and knead until you get a soft dough.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 4 balls and roll each to a medium thickness.Cut into cubes.
Once all done,heat oil in a pan and fry the dough until golden brown on both sides.Drain and set aside.
Store them in an airtight container to retain its texture( crunch).
