A meatball is ground meat rolled into a ball, sometimes along with other ingredients, such as bread crumbs, minced onion, eggs, butter, and seasoning. Meatballs are cooked by frying, baking, steaming, or braising in sauce.
Ingredients
500g Ground beef
1/2 Onion
2 Garlic cloves
1 tablespoon Red chilli powder
1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
3 – 4 tbsps Milks
2 teaspoon Coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon Cardamon powder
1 teaspoon Tumeric powder
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
Whole lemongrass
1 inch fresh ginger
1 3/4 cup beef stock/chicken stock
1 can of coconut milk
1 lime (juice and zest)
Method
Finely chop onions and garlic.Saute until fragrant,add red chilli powder and cook for 2 minutes and set aside.
In a mixing bowl create a well with the ground beef.In a separate bowl mix breadcrumbs and milk until doughy.Add the mixture to the ground beef ,and add the sauteed onion.Mix everything until all ingredients are well combined.
Scoop the mixture using a teaspoon and form into balls.
In the same pan add oil over medium heat,add the meatballs and cook for 4 minutes on each side.After flipping add the spices and lemongrass and let it cook.Add your stock and coconut milk and bring to a simmer
Squeeze in lime juice and garnish with lime zest before serving.
