A red onion chapati has more flavour.Raw onions get cooked and softened when frying the chapati.The onions are the star in the dish as they and flavour and punch to the chapati.
This chapatis are eaten both for breakfast,lunch or dinner.
For onion lovers,these chapatis are a must have.
How To Make The Dough
In a bowl add 4 cups all purpose flour,2 teaspoons of oil,sugar and salt as required.Add minced onions and mix together.
Add 1 cup of water in portions.Mix and kneae the dough adding water bit by bit.
Knead a soft,smooth dough.Cover the dough and let it rest for 20 -30 minutes.
Pinch a medium sized ball from the dough.Roll it between your palm to a smooth dough ball.Place on a flour dusted working surface.
Flatten the dough,apply oil and roll into a ball.Continue with the remaining dough.
Roll gently the chapati to a 8 inches diameter.
Heat your pan and keep the flame at medium heat.
Once the pan is hot place the chapati.When its 1/4 cooked then flip with a spatula and cook on the second side.
Fry the chapati on both sides,until golden brown.
Remove and serve with a stew or curry of your choice.
