Perfect as a dipping sauce for fried chicken, shrimp or beef burger, sweet chili has a sweet, sour, and slightly spicy taste that will wow your taste buds.It subtly enhances the taste of food and the sauce is easy to make and goes very well with fried foods.

Ingredients

red chilies

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed into 2 tablespoons of cold water

¾ cup water

¼ cup rice wine or apple cider vinegar

½ cup sugar

½ tablespoon salt

Method

Using a blender or food processor, blend the chilli to desired texture.

Using a pan, bring the water, vinegar, salt, sugar, garlic and chilli to a simmer.

Add cornstarch to the mixture, until the sauce has thickened. Do a taste test and add the desired ingredients.

Let the sauce cool before storing in the fridge.
