I was first introduced to cauliflower curry while workin in an Indian restaurant,I had no idea that cauliflower could taste so good.Since then I’ve made this curry many times and it’s always a hit.
Cauliflower curry is a staple in Indian cuisine,it is oftenly cooked with potatoes,hence the name Aloo Gobi Masala.So far i think it is the simplest recipe.
Gobi means cauliflower in Indian,you might have come across Indian Gobi Masala or Curry.It is mostly eaten as a main dish accompanied with rice,chapati or naan.
For the recipe you will need,the star ingredient cauliflower,onion,garlic,ginger,tomatoes and spices.
Method
Clean and chop the Cauliflower florets,blanch the cauliflower in hot water for 15 to 20 minutes maximum.
In a pan add oil,onion and saute until translucent.Add in the chopped garlic and ginger.Mix and saute until fragrant.
Reduce the flame to low.Add tumeric powder,chilli powder,garam masala, salt and coriander powder.Keep the flame low and mix the spices well.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until softened,add cauliflower and mix everything until well incorporated.Add water and simmer on medium low for 3 to 5 minutes.
Taste for seasoning and add if necessary.Serve
